Welcome to the Gypsy Nosara blog!

Welcome-1-600x338

In this blog, we will publish a series of articles in which we will explain a little about who we are and our history, but most importantly, we will give information that we believe is beneficial not only for visitors but also for individuals who wish to come and live in our area.

But what gives us the right to explain everything?

The answer to this question is why we began this blog with this first post, as an introduction to who we are.

About us

We are a tourist transport company mainly from international airports, the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste, and the Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alajuela.

Our primary headquarters is in NosaraNicoyaGuanacaste province, although we have units at the major airports already mentioned.

What are we doing?

We are committed to meeting our client’s transportation needs, mostly but not entirely from airports to the country’s major tourist destinations, with a focus on Nosara.

Our mission is to transport our clients securely and comfortably, despite the difficulties of Costa Rica’s roads and the state of the roads in the country’s most isolated areas.

Who do we do it for?

Most of our clients are foreigners from the United States and Europe, but we accept all citizens and foreigners of any country, color, ethnicity, or condition. We even take our customers’ dogs, cats, and other sorts of pets on a regular basis.

A Brief History of Gypsy Cab Nosara

Gypsy Cab Nosara began operations in January 2012.

In one month of 2011, a Nosara homeowner leases a car from a friend in San Jose to take her family to the Poas volcano and the La Paz waterfall in Vara Blanca. During the trip, the topic of tourist transit in Nosara comes up, as well as how difficult it is for visitors and the Nosara international population to travel to the Liberia airport.

The local woman believed that there were enough individuals for the transportation to be shared, allowing her to collaborate with the users while minimizing the carbon imprint of so many automobiles traveling to and from the Liberia airport.

A society was born.

It was planned that after several conversations and the necessary fieldwork, one of us would define the operation’s know-how, while the other would put together a full marketing plan to begin operations with a transport that he wanted to be in a single vehicle with people who come to Nosara from all over the world with the same feeling.

Our clients will travel for 2.5 hours to discuss their motivations and experiences. They will trade all of the expectations they bring with them when they come to Nosara and all of the energy they take with them when they depart from the same area. This location, and therefore this concept, would be known as Gypsy Cab Nosara.

We began with a 2003 model van and continued the shared transportation throughout that year until we began to receive bookings from people who wanted to travel alone or with their families, and our business began to develop.

After a while, other carriers adopted the “Gypsy Cab” concept, and we were obliged to deal with the pressure created by competition from those with cash.

We split towards the end of 2019 as a result of this, as well as conflicts between the partners caused by work weariness. The name Gypsy Cab remains in the hands of the marketing team, while the operational side begins to take shape under the name Green Ride Nosara, with the goal of not only providing transportation but also thoroughly immersing the visitor in Nosara and its surroundings.

Due to the declaration of a pandemic, the airports were closed in March 2020. So, with no money and a bank-cut fleet, they start working on “Nosara Delivery“, which allows them to exist until the airports reopen. This is how many of our clients come to us after receiving a delivery at their home from Nosara Delivery.

So, by the end of 2021, the Gypsy Cab brand is repurchased, along with all of the consumers that believed in this firm despite all of the adversity that occurred along the road.

We know from experience that we need our labor alliances with our fellow formal carriers in Nosara to produce economic well-being, solidarity that yields fruit in Nosara, and the excellent practice of collaborating with our environment by lowering our carbon footprint.

So, thanks to Happy Cab, Nosara Taxi Cab, Guiones Transports, Congo Transfers, Nosara Transports, Nosara VIP, and Mega Transfers Nosara, we are still as Gypsy as we were at the beginning.

The idea behind this blog

The goal of this blog is to use our 10+ years of experience transporting tourists and living in the Nosara area to get to know all of the corners, all of the possibilities, and all of the wonderful people who inhabit this paradisiacal area, whether they are traditionally local, Costa Ricans from other areas of the country who have come to settle in Nosara or foreigners who have adopted Nosara as their home and workplace.

Valuable information

Much of the information we obtain and access on a regular basis all around the internet is constructed from the perspective of visitors, not usually from the standpoint of residents.

The majority of the material on Nosara is written by people who are, to varying degrees, new to Nosara. And we frequently encounter inappropriate posts with incorrect or misleading information.

We do not want to diminish the valuable contribution that this vision can make, but we do believe that it is important to have a local’s vision, the vision of people who have not only lived in Nosara for many years, but who have lived in Costa Rica their entire lives, and who have tourism as a way of life.

Commercial bias.

All of our content is not just created with the information of our commercial partners, of which we have many, but we want to offer you all of the necessary information, whether they are our customers or not, and we will highlight what our personal recommendations are in all of the notes.

We hope that you will find all of the information you need about Nosara in this blog, including how to get there, where to stay, what to do and what not to do, and what to eat. We hope that this blog will be a credible source of information on Nosara.
